Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hairdressing

The Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hairdressing Apprenticeship Standard is designed for experienced stylists who are ready to develop advanced technical expertise and expand their creative skillset within the hairdressing industry. This programme builds on existing Level 2 skills and supports learners in becoming confident, innovative professionals capable of delivering high-level salon services.

Throughout the apprenticeship, learners refine advanced cutting and colouring techniques, including creative colour correction, advanced lightening services, precision cutting, and bespoke styling. The programme also strengthens consultation skills, enabling apprentices to design personalised services tailored to individual client needs.

In addition to technical excellence, apprentices develop leadership, commercial awareness, and client relationship skills — preparing them to take on senior stylist responsibilities, mentor junior team members, and contribute to business growth.

Training combines hands-on salon experience with structured off-the-job learning, ensuring skills are embedded in real working environments. Apprentices are supported by experienced industry professionals and complete an End-Point Assessment (EPA) to demonstrate their competence at an advanced level.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship opens progression opportunities into senior stylist roles, specialist colourist positions, salon management, or self-employment within the creative hair industry.
