Level 3 Advanced Beauty Therapist

The Level 3 Advanced Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship Standard is designed for qualified Level 2 Beauty Therapists who are ready to progress their skills and specialise in advanced beauty treatments. This programme develops a higher level of technical expertise, professionalism, and commercial awareness required to work confidently in salons, spas, aesthetic clinics, or advanced treatment environments.

Throughout the apprenticeship, learners build competence in advanced facial and body treatments, including electrical epilation, advanced skin treatments, body massage, and other technology-based services (subject to employer offer). Apprentices enhance their consultation skills to assess complex client needs, provide tailored treatment plans, and deliver safe, effective services in line with industry standards.

In addition to advanced technical skills, the programme strengthens knowledge of anatomy and physiology, health and safety, infection control, and client care at a more in-depth level. Learners also develop business awareness, retail skills, and the ability to build long-term client relationships to support commercial success.

Training combines practical workplace experience with structured off-the-job learning, supported by experienced tutors and industry professionals. Apprentices complete an End-Point Assessment (EPA) to demonstrate occupational competence and readiness to perform at an advanced level.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship opens opportunities to work as a senior beauty therapist, aesthetic therapist, spa therapist, or to progress into specialist qualifications, supervisory roles, or self-employment within the beauty industry.
