An apprenticeship combines real employment with structured training, giving people aged 16 and over the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for their chosen career.

Funding & Employer Incentives
Taking on an apprentice may cost your business less than you think.
Depending on the age and circumstances of your apprentice, their apprenticeship training may be fully funded.
Eligible employers may also be able to access financial support, including:
- Up to £2,000 for recruiting an eligible new apprentice under the age of 25 from October 2026.
- An additional £1,000 for eligible apprentices aged 16–18 or qualifying young people aged 19–24.
- Other government incentives and employment support where eligibility criteria are met.
- National Insurance savings for eligible apprentices under the age of 25.
