Level 2 Hairdressing Professional

The Level 2 Hairdressing Professional Apprenticeship Standard is designed for aspiring professional hairdressers who want to build a successful career in the hair and beauty industry. This programme provides apprentices with the essential technical skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours required to work competently and confidently in a salon environment.

Throughout the apprenticeship, learners develop practical expertise in areas such as consultation, shampooing and conditioning, cutting, colouring, styling, and finishing hair. Apprentices also gain a strong understanding of health and safety, client care, communication, and commercial awareness — all vital skills for working in a fast-paced salon setting.

This apprenticeship includes a mandatory qualification which is awarded by TQUK and is delivered in line with industry standards to ensure learners meet employer expectations and national occupational requirements.

Training combines on-the-job learning with structured off-the-job training, supported by experienced tutors and industry professionals. Apprentices will also complete an End-Point Assessment (EPA) to demonstrate their competence and readiness to work as a qualified hairdresser.

Upon successful completion, learners can progress into employment as a junior stylist, stylist, or continue their professional development through advanced hairdressing qualifications.

This apprenticeship provides the foundation for a rewarding and creative career within the hairdressing industry.
